Robert Dalton Higgins

Bob brings more than 30 years experience as a financial analyst and advisor to Dalton Financial LLC.  Bob began his career in finance with GTE Corporation from 1980 to 1986. From 1986 to 1993 he progressed through a series of positions at Compaq Computer, Dow Chemical, and Sandoz before beginning his financial services practice 1994.

Bob’s perspective is enhanced by his experience in innovative, Fortune 500 organizations developing world-changing technologies including internet, cell phones and portable computing, each at critical stages of development.

Bob graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, in 1978 with a degree in Economics. In 1980 he earned his MBA from The Babcock Graduate School of Management, at Wake Forest University, with a concentration in Finance. During the summer of 1979, he studied International Corporate Finance in London, through the Babcock program.

Today, Bob is the Principal of Dalton Financial LLC, a registered investment advisory firm located in Charlotte, NC. He provides financial planning and investment management services, as well as financial consulting. Robert serves on the Investment and Financial Committees for the Board of Directors of The Aldersgate Retirement Community in Charlotte. In the past, Robert has served on the Board of Directors for the Financial Planning Association of Charlotte and the Hornet’s Nest Girl Scouts Council. As an experienced financial analyst, he enjoys financial modeling and decision analysis. These analytical skills, coupled with his economics and management accounting background, distinguish him among financial advisors and registered representatives.

Bob’s paper “Investment Philosophy and Guiding Principles” was selected for presentation at the Academy of Financial Services in Denver, CO. The Academy encourages basic and applied research, development of curricula, and interaction between financial professionals and academicians.

Bob writes on financial topics and has been quoted in Morningstar Advisor, The Charlotte Observer, on CNBC and WSOC-TV9 in Charlotte, and in other trade journals and periodicals.
